Actress and musician Brittany Spears' publicists announced today that she shall matriculate to Cambridge University next fall and commence the study of astrophysics.
Remarkably, at a private sitting recently, she achieved much better than average scores on her Oxbridge exams and had no trouble qualifying as a first year.
Initially it was thought that she would read for a degree in Ancient Greek History and Philosophy, however, after meeting with faculty, Ms. Spears chose Astrophysics because of its, and her, star quality.
Questioned by the press, her publicists explained that Ms. Spears, far from being the bubble headed blond portrayed by the media, is actually a natural mathematician and an amateur naturalist of the first rank. Many of her previous psychological and pharmacological difficulties, they further explained, have stemmed from her regrettable decisions to ignore her educational needs and her frustrations at being given short shift in the public milieu as a thinking person.
