A well known, far right wing, public figure was heard by startled onlookers to address Prince Charles as 'Your Highness', in full view of elderly people and small children, several of whom were heard to gasp in shock. The anachronistic, right wing head case was later heard to address the Queen as 'your Majesty' and Prince Harry as 'Ginger nuts'.
An indignant onlooker exclaimed: "I thought I had seen the last of these archaic bastions of privilege and wealth but was shocked to hear a right wing idiot using hereditary titles in public, in broad daylight. In this day and age?
"When these nutters are drunk the pack instinct takes over but this was at a public event with impressionable young people present. I fear all we have done over the last fifty years is drive inherited titles underground.
"These expressions of deference to the British Monarchy send out the wrong signals to young people growing up in a progressive, liberal democracy."
A spokes flunky for the palace claimed that the royals perceive no sense of insult or derision when addressed with their formal titles. They see them as expressions of affection.
