London - (Praia da Illuzion Mess): Tory grandees are seeting after a junior party activist revealed plans on his MyFaecesBook blog entry to attend a fancy dress party as five year-old Maddie McCann "in pink pyjamas, a teddy bear and a vile (sic!) of fake blood".

Staffordshire Conservative Future branch chairman Matthew Lewis claimed it was supposed to be a 'totally bad taste party'.

"The only other alternative costume available was a 'Baby P' romper suit with a London Borough of Hackney "SOCIAL(IST) WORKERS ROCK!" logo," Lewis explained at a press conference today.

"But I decided that the 'SOCIAL(IST)' bit was an abomination too far and went for the safer, Maddie option instead."

Jerry McCann is 69.
