Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf has announced that he will resign as a direct result of the Pakistan Olympic team's failure to win a medal at Beijing Games.
Mr Musharraf has been a staunch ally of the US and President George Bush in the War Against Terror (WAT), and his resignation leaves the West on tenterhooks about what those nasty Muzzies will do next.
The Pakistan team's failure to win a medal should come as no surprise to Mr Musharraf, however, as, apart from cricket, Pakistan are crap at sport.
The last time Pakistan won a medal of any colour, was in 1912, when they took won a bronze in the Mens Bombmaking. In recent times, even the cricket team have failed to impress, and at the last World Cup, their coach Bob Woolmer was 'sacked'.
President Bush said in a speech tonight:
"I am saddened by the decision of Mr Musafir to desertify his post. He and Pakiland have been an extremist good friend to us, and my only wish is that his Pakthletes could have won a medal and saved his job."
Musharraf is expected to live in London where many failed dictators seem to end up.
