A senior civil servant was reportedly dumbfounded to discover a large number of highly-classified documents in her office document safe, where they should be.
The government employee, Janice Place, told the BBC that it was "highly unusual" to find documents stored on government premises and according to security guidelines, and that she'd only gone to the safe to retrieve her packet of Hob Nobs.
"They [the documents] are rarely to be found there and are more usually at someone's house or left on a train," said Miss Place. "I once had to visit the local tip after my partner discarded a large box of top secret files on the threat of terrorist action against the Cheeky Girls."
Miss Place agreed it was a national disgrace and that authorities, including the police and ministers, should work together to find out who'd remove the Hob Nobs from the safe.
