London (World Muse Bureau) - British PM Gordon Brown backs removal of body parts without consent
Leading by example, Brown today presented to media both hands of his minister Peter Hain which he had removed an hour ago, for being unable to declare political donations of £103,000.
Brown said, "I completely support my cabinet colleague and have no doubt in his abilities to carry on the good work he has been doing. He took his eye off the ball and he has apologised for that; so I have let him off with just a couple of hands less."
Asked about Hain's reaction to this amputation, the PM whirled around and with great deftness pressed a remote button, allowing the reporters to witness video-conferencing with Peter Hain live from his bed at the East London Hospice.
Replying to a question about the whole affair, Peter said," I completely support my cabinet colleague and have no doubt in his abilities to carry on the good work he has been doing. I took my eye off the ball and have apologised for that; so I have been let off with just a couple of hands less."
Later, celebratory drinks were served to the gathering.
