Home secretary Jacqui Smith faced embarrassing questions in the House yesterday after her claim that the majority of jobs created since Labour came to power in 1997 had been filled by home grown British Workers was disproved by figures released by the Department of Work and Pinchings.
Fifty-two percent of new positions had been filled by Employees born overseas leaving a MASSIVE 48 per cent of Britons without a job.
TheSpoof.com says "This is a travesty! Give our British Boys and Girls a Break, Mr Brown!"
We interviewed some passing strangers on the street for their opinions, and published those that met with our own personal agenda below.
Douglas Smallballs, a 42 year old Chartered Surveyor earning £64,000 per annum said. "This is disgraceful. I would have loved to mop floors in Moto Services at Reading for the minimum wage, but now these scroungers come over and worked very hard to deprive me of that right."
Whereas Sheila Largequantity, a landscape gardener from Slough said "These people study medicine for many years in their own country, get internationally recognised qualifications and then come over here to fill an urgently needed skills gap whilst at the same time taking advantage of much better pay and conditions? What is the Government thinking of? We have plenty of unqualified, unskilled British workers festering in call centres that could probably do the same job. If they were trained. And if they could be bothered. Give our kids a chance!"
