Santa Claus is considering getting an injunction against a Gloucester village after a frustrated traders have cancelled Christmas because a road closure. The road is closed due to a landslip brought on by the summer's floods.
Postmistress said. "Trade is so bad. Its turned us into a ghost town and I have cancelled Christmas. I have kept a few Christmas cards. It's a horrible thing to have to say but I have cancelled all my Christmas orders for my gift and cards shop because shoppers can not find us."
Santa Claus is said to rubbished these claims and commented "If I can find my way there anyone can!"
Santa though strongly denied stories that he had recently fitted a Sat Nav to his sleigh.
"I have the children to think about here and I am considering taking this a far as the High Court. Lots of people rely on Christmas, please think about all those Santa's, elves, and reindeer that will be out of a job. I could have a strike on my hands."
The local Parish Council is to hold a public meeting with traders and residents after fears the village pantomime may have to be cancelled as well. A spokesperson for the Council said "We're doing Cinderella this year and had a huge response for the ugly sister auditions - some of them were even real"
