London - (Rotters): The felonious fraudster writer claiming authoriship of the Harry Potter stories, JK Rowling, has ratcheted up the grief stakes by insisting the launch of the seventh and final book of the series this weekend is accompanied by an attention-grabbing publicity campaign displaying posters of little Maddie who disappeared on holiday in Portugal on May 3rd this year.
"This is cynicism run riot," the real Harry Potter author said today gritting her teeth but insisting the police sting strategy of corralling Rowling into a corner has been well worth the wait.
Rowling meanwhile piled on the schmaltz in a simpering Goody-Two-Shoes interview today, telling reporters of her hearfelt wishes:
"I fervently hope that posters displayed prominently in shops all over the world will draw attention to my amazing compassionate side so that people will always associate me with worthwhile altruistic causes.
"My hearfelt wish is that some dear little Harry Potter reader will soon recognise young Maddie in the street somewhere and run to the poliuce saying: 'I've seen her! The little girl who went missing on holiday! And it's all because of JK Rowling's wizard idea about the poster!'
"In my heart of hearts I honestly feel that this is what is bound to happen.
"The the new book will come out and miraculously will help find Madeleine.
"Then the whole world will know that what I did was right, that I did it for all the little children who I have fooled into thinking that I'm the books' real author and not just a thief who has cynically made ££££s out of all this deception."
