The London Metropolitan police were today celebrating another victory in the war against child pornography, claiming to have cracked a massive paedophile ring based in London.
In fact, the ring of pervs are actually based at the Met and officers have ended up arresting fellow officers in the child porn crackdown.
An officer commented,"It was mad, I had to arrest my own desk sergeant and my pal's wife ended up arresting him, and then we all had to arrest the chief, it was like the Christmas party all over again, except without the drink-driving."
Embarrassed senior Met officials today hailed the arrests as "a huge step forward in the fight against crime in London" and insisted that the arrests will signal a significant upturn in arrest figures.
Later, however, it transpired that the officer's credit card details had been used fraudulently to access on-line paedophilia. It is believed the details had been obtained from customer records stolen from internet ISP Bulldog.
A Chief Constable today stated, "It was worrying for a while. We thought we'd have to completely rethink the community policing policy in schools."
