During the 1950's Her Majesty's subjects were the model of racial tolerance in their opposition to racial segregation and discrimination in the US. Dr King was a hero to all from Glasgow to Wales. British teenie boppers fantasized about black beaus as did their sex-starved mothers. But times have changed in the land of John Bull.
"Now that we actually have person of colour livin' among us, I understand heroes like Yankee bias a wee bit more..." explained lifetime liberal Lady Nimby, "Sure I know lots of black people, but when they buy the condo right next door and their name's not James Brown but Nikembe Ocabe, well,that's a very different bundle of sticks".
Lord Nimby concurred: "My Grandfather fought the Boers and Father helped occupy Indya. They both came home with "tropical" diseases and wonderful stories of the noble native people in those far off lands, especially the females! But when those nobles, female or not are brought to your doorstep, and you've got to be neighbors...Well let's just say, it's been a struggle."
