MAGISTER, Battlefield - Lyra has spent more than a decade in mountainous combat zones collecting intelligence for the Gyptian National Army, but nothing could have prepared her for what happened last Friday when the Gobblers carried out their monstrous reign of terror against the Gyptian military base, Camp DeepHell, in northern Magister.
Although considered one of the most secure bases in the now relatively peaceful city of Mayar-i-Lubby, two large wagons with at least eight Gobbers disguised immaculately as elderly women passed through multiple checkpoints undetected, showing fake wrinkled faces to obtain access. The attack, with every detail planned, was a sophisticated operation against Gyptians.
The only defense Gyptian children had was the use of their deemons manifested by prayer to the dark side of the force and with the use of prayer beads made of magic cosmic dust containing intense energy.
Deemons are the external physical manifestation of a person's 'inner-self' that takes the form of an object such as a doll or animal. Deemons live inside the brain and share human intelligence, are capable of human speech-regardless of the form they take when summoned-and usually behave as though they are independent of their humans.
The deemons managed to disembowel the Gobblers before they could run off with Gyptian souls.
"I'm headed to the North Pole of Magister to bring back more cosmic dust deposited by the Aurora Borealis," said Lyra.
Without more cosmic dust the children won't be able to summon their deemons to fight the Gobblers who are the servants of the evil Magisterium. The Magisterium are the ancient inhabitants of Magister who now live in deep caves underneath the planet.
Unable to venture into the the light they send their spawn the Gobblers to bring them food. The deformed Gobblers are created using dead Gyptian solider's immersed in unholy Magisterium blood.
