Barcelona, Spain-An American man named John who characterizes himself as adventurous and outdoorsy chose to eat three meals at a single local restaurant, El Restaurante de Leon, on a day trip to Barcelona on Saturday. In an interview with John, we learned that he was unable to find a better restaurant in the quarter-mile radius that he had planned to traverse carefully and thoroughly months in advance. "According to all the foodie journals I reviewed, Leon's restaurant is by far the best in the area," said John.

We interviewed the restaurant's owner Leon who indicated that he was shocked to see a man knocking on the door Saturday morning. "I generally come early to clean up and prepare food for my dinner guests, but I was alarmed when I saw a man carrying a tote bag knocking on the door at 11am, given that the restaurant opens at 8:30pm every day of the week," said Leon. "The man was red in the face, sweaty, and out of breath. In fact the only thing I could hear was 'I want the special', a statement that brought about nothing but confusion," added Leon.

We learned from John that he had arrived in Barcelona at 10am and wanted to have breakfast before his trek through the tiny area he wanted to see over the course of the day. "I find that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, especially when you're jetlagged, so I was really happy when Leon agreed to prepare breakfast for me outside of regular store hours," said John.

Leon told us in the interview that John returned, with dirt all over his face, hands, and clothes at around 4pm, requesting lunch and refreshments. "I must admit that I was surprised to see him again, but what really mystified me was that he was unclean," said Leon. "He did tell me about his plan to explore the surrounding area, but his uncleanliness is beyond me given that the area is among the cleanest in the city. However, I asked no questions for fear of a weird conversation that might follow and prepared lunch for him," added Leon.

In the third and final installment of this saga, we learned from Leon that John appeared yet again on Saturday night for dinner, but this time he had a guest. "He was calm, collected, well dressed, and was accompanied by a beautiful Spanish woman," Leon said. "I had hoped I would never see him again, but I was pleasantly surprised by his appearance, so I gave him a warm welcome like I do with all of my regular guests and he acted as if he had never met me," added Leon. Leon said that he realized John was slightly embarrassed and might have wanted to avoid a conversation about his trek through the area and the fact that 100% of his caloric intake on Saturday was provided by El Restaurante de Leon. "I felt bad for pretending as if I had not met Leon earlier in the day, but I made up for it by leaving a 10% tip, which I hear is unheard of in these parts," said John.

At press time, we learned that John returned to his home in Honolulu, Hawaii, but has every intention of returning to Barcelona on a bimonthly basis to visit his new girlfriend, Joan, who lives in an apartment above El Restaurante de Leon.

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
