Pope Francis has set his mind on being a Saint and has started by trying to solve the conflict between the Palestinians and Israel.
He told waiting reporters that 'it will be miracle that would put the miracles of my predecessors in the shade'. Never a man to lack ambition Francis has a list of other miracles he is set to achieve in the near future. They include solving the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, bringing the various factions of Muslims into an amicable relationship and placating the Al Qaeda militants in Africa and elsewhere.
A longer term objective is to 'sort out the issues related to climate change'. There is nothing that will discourage him from establishing a world of peace and contentment.
But there is one task the Pope realises is beyond his powers. No amount of prayer and gentleness stand a chance. As he is said to have remarked to a Catholic priest who fancies his young choirboys: 'Boys will be boys.' Realising that traditional birth control is another task beyond his abilities the Pope is settling on another solution which can result in limiting the population.
