The BBC has unveiled it's new strategy to regain the trust of the nation. This will start over the Christmas period when the Christmas Day schedule will feature a 90 minute special of the sit-com 'Miranda' starring Miranda Hart this will be followed by 'Christmas Call the Midwife' featuring Miranda Hart while in 'Eastenders' the regulars of the Queen Vic will receive a surprise visit from Miranda Hart.
Following Christmas full series of 'Miranda' and 'Call the Midwife' will fill the schedule while the BBC are planning to make a new version of 'Dad's Army' starting with a film over the summer. In a controversial move the part of Captain Mainwaring will be played by a woman, tipped to be Middle England's favorite comedienne Miranda Hart.
"It's a surprise that the BBC are putting so much faith in Miranda." Miles Johnston a TV critic for Yahoo! Said yesterday. "She can't act and her comedy just revolves around the fact that she is large and looks a bit funny. Jo Brand and Dawn French a likewise large and funny looking but they can act and both of them are funny."
"Look I'm very happy to see more of Miranda." Prime Minister David Cameron said yesterday "I know Miranda very well as she went to school with my wife Samantha and we often have her round for tea and cake."
ITV are trying to counter the BBC's all Miranda schedule by offering former 'Wife Swap' star Lizzy Bardsley a new contract while Channel Four are already planning a sit com around a central character played by 'Octomom' Nadya Suleman.
