London UK: Harry Phelps on his way to work at "The Spoof" was nearly hit by a chauffeur driven Bentley, as he stepped off the curb in front of the Bank Street Underground station.

Harry was dusting himself off and cursing that he had looked to the left like some American tourist when a loud voice cried out "Harry is that you?" To his amazement John McDonnell was getting out of the rear of the Bentley and coming towards Harry. Harry immediately recognized John, even after 10 years of not seeing each other and the two men gripped each other in a big bear hug.

At this point the chauffeur came up to both men and inquired if Sir John was in any difficulty. John explained to Jeeves that he and Harry had been spoof writers in 2003 at "The Spoof" when there were only three writers namely John, Harry and Mark. John and Harry then trudged off to the nearest Pub to catch up on old times over a few pints of ale.

John related how his old lady had made a remarkable observation, while they were queued up at the local Tesco supermarket checkout counter, staring at the front pages of racked magazines. She thought that John wrote better spoofs than the tabloid articles about women with three boobs or how some Hollywood tart gained 300 pounds of fat.

John further related that in 2004 he borrowed money against his life insurance policy and took a second mortgage on the house to open a small tabloid newspaper located in Wapping called the London Leaker. The newspaper specialized in humor, sex and gossip. The Parliament Paps, Edinburgh Effing and Glasgow Gash soon followed. Even the Queen took notice of my literary achievements, hence my Knighthood. Harry when I ran into you, I was on my way to see a USA publisher/financier about my latest joint newspaper venture the Washington Wanker.
