Star of Blackpool Pier and succesful Northern comic Bob Carolgees has put forward his bid for Tory leadership. Spit the Dog would be involved as well, though in what way we're not quite sure.
Bob, who had a guest slot on Peter Kay's Pheonix Nights, said he was very interested in being the Tory party leader, despite a lack of political experience and being a bit of a gimp.
The TV funnyman was welcomed as a member of the Tory party, in the hope of giving younger voters an interest in politics. Mr Carolgees is always available for interview, but if that bleedin' dog spits at us we won't do it.
Previous attempts at politics by comedians include Rod Hull's disasterous Emu party in the late 70s and Tony Blair's successful campaign currently in its second term.
