Dundee United striker has admitted he was "embarrassed" by his manager comparing him with Man Utd's Wayne Rooney.
Tangerines boss Peter Houston compared his prized possession to the England striker after his spectacular overhead goal against Motherwell earlier in the month, but Goodwillie laughed the comparisons off.
"Any resemblance between the two of us is totally exaggerated", the Stirling born Scotland cap commented,"Rooney is really a lightweight".
"Apart from representing his country in 2 World Cups and being a multi millionaire, what has he really achieved ?
"I've twice been found guilty of assault and I'm up in court soon on a charge of rape. What's he got to his name? A one nighter with a 50 year old prozzie?"
Dundee United have declined to comment.
