Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and winger Samir Nasri have been charged by UEFA over comments made to the referee after their3-1 Champions League defeat by Barcelona.
If found guilty, the pair could be sentenced to 2 years in prison.
The duo have been charged with improper conduct for "inappropriate language".
Mr Wenger was involved in a furious exchange with referee Signore Massimo Busacca after Tuesday's loss, which saw the Gunners eliminated from the tournament.
The Frenchman was incensed by the ref's decision to show a second yellow card to Robin Van Persie for shooting at goal one second after Busacca had blown the whistle for offside.
Mr Nasri was among a group of Arsenal players who remonstrated 'in no uncertain terms' with the referee, using all kinds of nasty words and phrases that he has picked up during his time in the English game. Just awful.
Later, Mr Van Persie claimed he had not heard the referee's whistle due to the crescendo of noise provided by the 95,000 crowd.
Mr Wenger confronted Signore Busacca at the final whistle and their angry exchanges continued in the tunnel. He was very, very angry, and said some things that he probably shouldn't have said, leaving Signore Busacca distraught and traumatised. So volatile was Mr Wenger's rebuke, that Signore Busacca needed to have a sit-down afterwards.
Now, however, UEFA have intervened, and have said that a disciplinary meeting will be held, and if the Arsenal defendants are found guilty as charged, they could be handed jail terms of two years each, and banned from swearing for ever and ever and ever. And ever.
That'll teach them to say nasty things to that fucking stupid cunt of a referee.
