A recent survey by pollsters YouGov has revealed that Ashley Cole is now less popular than the Ebola virus. This has come on the back of recent allegations made by the News of the World involving the troubled footballer's antics with an air-gun, that resulted in a student being shot and injured.
YouGov calculates the popularity of unpopular things each week and places the results on its Current Unpopularity National Ticker index or the C-UNT for short.
Following news of the incident, Cole's stock on the C-UNT plummeted a spectacular 48 places, to an all time low of 312th, just below Limescale (309), the fat opera singer from the Go-Compare ads (310) and the Ebola Virus(311).
Despite this, Cole can draw some consolation from the fact that he is still higher up the rankings than Colonel Gaddafi (316), Genital Herpes (324) and Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg (354).
So far the Ash-Cole camp has declined to comment.
