There was consternation at Manchester United's Carrington training facility this morning as Sir Alex Ferguson reportedly reported that his favourite pen is missing.
An insider told us that Sir Alex is deeply upset that the custom made solid gold Waterman fountain pen is missing because it was the pen which he handed to Eric Cantona, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and David Beckham when they signed on the dotted line, committing themselves to United.
"I hope the boss's pen is found quickly," the source told Skoob Sports News. "He hates losing stuff does the boss. He goes mad. Goes off on one and everybody suffers. It'll be a better day for Manchester United if Sir Alex's pen is found and returned to him."
