Following a string of poor performance's and generally perceived mismanagement of the Liverpool FC team, manager Roy Hodgson has been fired out of a cannon by the American owners of the club.
The action, rare in British sports, however common place in the US sports of baseball and Basketball, see the manager publicly shot over 100 feet in the air and landing in a local river.
Hodgson took flight earlier today, becoming the first Premiership manager to undergo the treatment, and crashed into the River Mersey, 2 miles away.
It is believed that should the performances not improve now, Hodgson will likely face a sacking. In which the US owners will bag him in a mail sack and post him to a distant address, second class.
