David Cameron is to be in the England squad for their next European qualifier against Wales.
He has already started training with the squad.
"I want to be seen as a down to earth, man of the people prime minister" said the PM, over a fat cigar and a bottle of 1860 cognac, "so I gave Capello a ring, and for a small fee, I shall be participating in the next game of association football. I'm secretly hoping for the position of fly half."
The PM says that hopefully this will raise awareness for the 2018 world cup bid.
"It will be great to see football coming home at last. If we win, I'm considering actually staying in the country for the duration of the tournament."
Nick Clegg thought it was a "fantastic idea", and Boris Johnson was even heard to mutter, "Yes yes yes, football, yes, sounds familiar, yes."
