Tom Brady of the New England Patriots was involved in a two-car wreck this morning and, although the hospital thinks that he's OK, some bad effects could show up later as the wreck was pretty bad.
Witnesses said he appeared shaken, but the team said he appears OK and that he reported to the stadium this morning as the team prepared for its season opener.
A team physician stated that, at least on the surface, Brady seemed to be OK but was still shaky over the incident.
"He's a tough guy but getting hit by a blitzing linebacker can make you shaky one day and laid out for a couple of weeks", stated team Dr. Henry Andrews. "We'll know more as the next few days go by. I'd rather keep him off the practice field a little more than usual."
The team also said that Brady "reports that he's OK" and a spokesman later said Brady had only participated in a walk-through.
The wreck was serious enough that they had to get one victim out with the "Jaws of Life".
A law enforcement source said the man driving the sedan in the wreck was Brady. The unconscious passenger in the van was transported to Brigham Women's Hospital. There was no word yet on the passenger who was cut out of the van.
Finally we got a word from Brady himself. "I'm OK, I think. Have to say that I'm shook up pretty bad. I'm expecting to be really sore tomorrow but I should be OK for this weekend's opener!"
"Tell my boys I'm OK! Where is my wife and her 3 girls?"
