Reports that Chelsea and England full back Ashley Cole has had a psychiatrist visit as he recuperates from his broken ankle in France do not necessarily signify that he is losing his mind.
So says a written statement, allegedly penned by Chelsea club captain John Terry and read out to reporters by a hired hand.
Some reports have hinted that Cole is close to cracking up following the much publicised break up of his marriage and his compulsive texting of photographs of himself in his underpants to topless models. Showing off his lunchbox. (Last time it was chicken salad without the salad.)
Not so, says John Terry. Or at least the hired hand did. Ashley Cole is recovering from a broken ankle in a clinic near Biarritz and injured footballers often feel a little bit down. It's all perfectly normal.
The psychiatrist was sent to check Ashley out because the club has a duty towards his 'wellness.'
The consultation had nothing whatsoever to do with Cole's high profile dumping by Cheryl, or his fascination with underpant pictures.
More as we get it.
