Rumours currently sweeping Manchester would seem to suggest that Manchester United are prepared to welcome David Beckham home.
The player often expressed that he never wanted to leave Manchester United in the first place.
Currently unpopular with the LA Galaxy team and fans following a successful loan period at AC Milan, it is widely believed that Beckham and Sir Alex Ferguson have been contemplating a possible reunion, providing Fergie doesn't start throwing boots about in a fit of pique.
Cutting Beckham's eyebrow.
We spoke to a United fan in The Dog And Partridge pub, a stones throw away from Old Trafford. Jarbo The Killer told us:
"Yeah we'd welcome Becks back. We never had a problem with him. He always gave it his all in the red shirt. And he's never badmouthed the club. He might not have the pace any more, and his Mrs might be a bit of a space-case, but anybody who can send a pass 70 yards straight to a team mate's feet is an asset in my opinion. Besides, he's Gary Neville's best mate. So that'll do for me."
If Beckham does sign for United, remember: You read it here first.
More as we get it.
