The New York Yankees have issued a demand to the commissioner of Major League baseball today, requesting that the 2009 baseball season be immediately restarted.

The Yankees, who signed new players over the winter with contracts over $250 million, are currently 3rd in the American League East and have barely won 50% of their games this season.

The billion dollar super team had clearly expected to win 100% of their games, setting up a dream season in their new Yankee Stadium.

The manager of the club, Joe Giradi stated "We aren't asking for anything crazy here. We just want to start the season over. Wipe it from the records and everything. We will definitely have a better start to this season if we had another go."

The commissioner is said to be considering the proposal.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
