There was jubilation in East Yorkshire today, as fans of Hull City celebrated in true Christmas spirit, when BBC football pundit Mark Lawrenson 'predicted' that the Tigers would lose 2-1 at Manchester City on Boxing Day.
'Lawro' as he is known, has become a revered figure in Hull, for his countless forecasts of Tigers' defeats, which then turn into the exact opposite for City fans, who, every week, look forward to his 'uninformed guesses'.
Last week, however, much to Hull's chagrin, Lawro fell from grace by tipping City to beat Sunderland at the KC Stadium. It was a disaster, the Black Cats triumphing 4-1, against all the odds.
This week, though, Lawrenson makes Mark Hughes' men his favourites to stop Hull in their tracks, despite being shit, in the bottom three, and having miserably lost 2-1 at West Brom last week.
Hull manager Phil Brown told us:
"Thank Christ he's predicted a defeat for us at Manchester City! It's a lucky omen - like having thirteen men on the pitch!"
