Sunderland midfielder Andy Reid believes in reincarnation!
"Like most people I have my faith, but I never really thought about things too deeply " he said. "However, I just know I have been here before. It's a bit spooky and hard to explain but I find it a real help".
His most important former self gives him comfort when things get tough and, apparently, has a lot in common with the Irish star.
"I'm not sure of his identity, but I'm convinced he was a professional sportsman. For example, when I was getting stick for being overweight and lazy, I could sense him saying "Don't worry, its OK to be a professional athlete and a bit fat. Let the others do the work..." says Reid. "He wasn't a footballer I don't think and he wasn't Irish. The only clues I can detect, when he comes to my mind, are that I see a white kit,the number 13 and a red rose and I have an urge to pick up the football. I also get a strong image of a popular lager."
"Anyway, I feel much more comfortable knowing he's looking out for me" added Reid.
