There was more drama at the England training camp this morning before tonight's friendly with Germany, when team boss Fabio Capello became the latest of a growing number of withdrawals from the squad.
After Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand, Wes Brown, Joe, Ashley and Nat King Cole, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, and last night, Theo Walcott had already withdrawn, Capello notified the England team doctor this morning he was feeling "a bit ropey".
Capello has been struggling to find eleven players who are both fit, and want to play, and the news of his own absence from the touchline has incensed the Italian.
He spoke yesterday of trying to recruit Terry Butcher as a back-up coach, but the Scotland no.2 declined the offer, saying he now feels more Scottish than English.
Latest news: There was even more potential bad news this evening, when at least two thousand of the England fans expected to travel to Berlin for the game hinted that they may not turn up, due to "constantly being reminded of the War".
