One poor Canadian trying to impress his friends...

NEW YORK / LONDON / TORONTO - "You can have your Cricket, your Rugby, and your Football (which we call Soccer)," responded one American when asked what he thought about British athletics. "I have no idea what goes on in them anyway."

"Personally, I do not understand American Football/Baseball/Basketball," said one British respondent. "Nor do I wish to."

A recent unpublished study found that these remarks seem to be the consensus among American and British fans, who could not care less than they presently do about each other's national pastimes.

Meanwhile, Canadians (who attempt to stay out of the fray by entertaining numerous different sporting events including a few of their own, such as Curling and Ice Hockey) now find themselves left holding the bag of too much variety in sport. Sadly, Canada suffers from simultaneously existing next door to the U.S. and being a part of the British Commonwealth.

"Come on, guys, can't we all just get along?" was the overwhelming response from all but two Canadians out of more than one-thousand surveyed.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
