An extraordinary assassination attempt was made on the life of AC Milan goalkeeper Dida last night, as his side were beaten in the Champion's League.
After Dida had let in a simple goal in the 90th minute, what was assumed to be a Celtic fan was seen dancing towards the goalkeeper, arms outstretched. As he got close to Dida, he lightly touched the keeper's face.
The stricken keeper managed a few steps after the fan, but then collapsed in a heap as the pain hit him.
He was stretchered off, with an ice pack on his face to reduce the swelling.
The fan was ushered away by stewards and ejected from the ground, but as the game was over by then didn't miss anything.
AC Milan later said that Dida was treated immediately by the emergency services and will be on life support until his next match on Saturday.
