Sunday's Super Bowl LIV between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs will be notable for many reasons, the latest of which was revealed yesterday, as the 49ers will line up for the game wearing specially-designed, new LGBT rainbow-colored uniforms.
The game is being staged at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
Both teams usually play in red, but as this might result in confusion on the field of play, one of the two had to change, and, after a toss of a coin, this turned out to be San Francisco.
Owner of the 49ers, Dr. John York, said:
"We have a big LGBT community in San Francisco, and, as one of the teams had to change, we thought it would be nice to show how progressive we are, and honor the faggots and freakshows in our city."
San Francisco is the LGBT capital of the universe.
