ST. LOUIS - There were a lot of shocked Shockers fans in the Scottrade Center as the loyal Wichita Staters saw there undefeated team 35-0 get beaten by the University of Kentucky Wildcats in the NCAA March Madness Tournament.
Wichita State ended their bid to make it to the Sweet 16 as the 8th seeded Ken Cats shocked them in a 78-76 stunning upset.
Kentucky Coach John Calipari was so thrilled he wanted to give each of his players $100 but one of his assistant coaches quickly took away his wallet.
And so the Big Blue Nation is now The Happy as Hell Big Blue Nation as most of the Cat cheerleaders cheered so much they have temporarily lost their kitty cat voices.
One Wichita State fan was overheard saying that the Shockers lost because two of the starters had real bad headaches and one had the hiccups.
Another fan had the nerve to say that it was just way too loud in the arena and the Shocker players had a hard time trying to concentrate.
SIDENOTE: And so the Wichita State Shockers end their March Madness quest with a 35-1 record courtesy of the boys in blue who were giving each other high fives, low fives, fist bumps, and yes even chest bumps in the shower.
