CHICAGO - The Miami Heat had just beaten the Chicago Bulls 104-94 to take a 2 to 1 lead in the Eastern Conference playoffs when Mr. Heat himself, LeBron James was asked a question in the visiting team's locker room.
Rufus Reno with Sports Balls Illustrated Daily asked King James about a statement he had made a few weeks ago while he was visiting a relative in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Reno reminded LeBron that he had said that he will end up playing back in Cleveland for the Cavaliers in the not-to-distant future.
James put down his bottle of Grape Gatorade, smiled, and said that he stands by his remark.
He then added that he is still bothered by the fact that he turned his back on his hometown of Cleveland to seek the bright, hot lights of El Miami (as Miami residents call it).
LeBron said that he remembers, when he left Cleveland for Miami, getting emails from kids as young as 5 and 6 calling him all kinds of names such as [EXPLETIVE DELETED] and [EXPLETIVE DELETED].
He explained that he even received emails from grandmothers in their 70s and 80s saying that his mama should have put him over her leg and spanked the Miami urge out of him.
Lebron told Reno that he is going to return to Cleveland because he promised his first grade teacher KeyShonta Fayleen Washington, 71, that one day he will again wear the proud wine, blue, and gold of his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers.
