Nothing seemed to go right for Liverpool this afternoon at Anfield, where the once mighty reds huffed and puffed against a fairly lightweight Arsenal team, yet failed to make any real kind of impression.
German Gunner, Lukas Podolski fired the Gunners ahead at the Kop end in the first half after a superb cock up from Anfield icon Stevie Gerrard, who gifted Arsenal the ball for a perfectly executed break.
You could have heard a pin drop on the Kop as stunned Scousers went into vegetable mode, prompting the Arsenal contingent to take the piss by singing: "Where's your famous atmosphere?"
It went even quieter - if that's possible - in the second half, when Cazorla netted a second, beating Reina at the near post with a low drive which ricocheted into the net off the keeper's arse. Or more likely, his elbow.
It looks like being yet another disappointing season for Brenda Rodgers' men, which was reinforced by the grumbling masses filtering out of the stadium at full time, cursing about 'Bloody Jairrrmans' 'bombed chippies' 'jammy cocccckkkkkneys' and 'chiccckkkkkken.'
Final score - Liverpool 0 Arsenal 2
