The Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has secretly told friends that he will turn down the job of England manager if it is offered by the Football Association, but is still considering leaving Spurs - for the newly available managers job at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Mick McCarthy got the push yesterday from the Molineux hot seat after a 5-1 thumping at home to Black country rivals West Bromwich Albion on sunday, meaning they have won only one game in the last thirteen, and dropped into the relegation zone of the Premier League.
Harry told a mate down the rub a dub pub "I love a bit of Dancing With Wolves - it's one of my favourite DVDs ever. Actually I love all animals, wolves, foxes and of course dogs, especially my pitbull Rosie. And I love the black country pudding. Even if eating too much of it makes my face a bit puffy."
When asked who should the England job Harry replied in an instant "Mick McCarthy should get the England job - he's a proud Yorkshireman who would do a great job for his country."
