Merchant already in training: not bad for 80

LAS VEGAS, Nev.--Moments after Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s 4th round knockout of Victor Ortiz, 80-year-old HBO commentator Larry Merchant challenged the 34-year-old Mayweather on the fairness of his winning blows.

Mayweather, 42-0, almost immediately launched into a tirade claiming that Merchant, a veteran of more than 50 years in boxing, wasn't shit and, incidentally, didn't know shit.

Merchant, not to be outdone, told Mayweather that he'd kick his ass if he were 50 years younger.

"So why not now, motherfucker?" inquired an incensed Mayweather.

HBO confirmed today that Merchant (0-0) will return on Saturday, October 29, to challenge Mayweather for a the Championship Hothead Bout.

Expected to not go longer than the first round, the matchup promises to net the winner (Mayweather) some $200 million while the loser (Merchant) will go home in a body bag along with a cool $15,000 to cover burial expenses.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
