Professor Donald McGrane gave a lecture on the Multiverse theory at Oxford University yesterday.
During the lecture McGrane said "There are more stars in the milky way than there are grains of sand in the sahara desert and there are more galaxies than there are grains of sand in all the deserts of the earth."
One student asked does the universe have an end and Professor McGrane replied "The universe or what I term the multiverse is infinite it goes on forever,imagine you could travel a trillion times faster than the speed of light even then you would go on forever after all where could the universe end a brick wall perhaps but no there would have to be something behind the brick wall even if it was only empty space.
"Our Universe is only one of an infinite number of universes which we term a multiverse."
No scientist has yet found the answer to life the universe and everything.
