Every year around this time atheists across the US experience a crisis of disbelief.
Harold Nogod, a leading atheist, explains that he often feels real gratitude for all the blessings he has received in life and that it can be really tough not having anyone to thank:
"Listen, I know a twit like me and the rest of pitiful humanity is not the reason why there are so many wonderful gifts in life. We are surrounded by miracles and mysteries! The biggest of all is thatb there is no source for all of grace experienced. Sometimes I feel so grateful that I just want to create a god to thank but then I feel silly and just call my sponsor or go to an unbelievers eleven step meeting( We had to get rid of the one about the higher power)"
