Scientists at the Search for Terrestrial Foundational Understanding have reported that they have, for the first time, found signs of intelligence on the planet Earth.
Readers might recognize Earth as the name for the planet on which we live. Or they might not, it's difficult to tell.
Researcher Stu Pidooman has been studying the Norwegian lemur for the past decade, and remarked in a press release that "the lemur's propensity for jumping off of cliffs, in an effort to speed up the shuffling off of this mortal coil, is the single largest sign of intelligence we have seen in a terrestrial lifeform to date."
Researchers studying the species homo sapiens have previously remarked that the signs of intelligence have been recorded among some members of this species; but that "the paradoxical popularity of Tom Cruise has finally removed this species from consideration."
