Doctor Bud Light, of West Suffolk Hospital, Bury St Edmunds, has made what is already being hailed as the medical discovery of the century.

Dr Light, a neurologist with 17 years of experience and a PhD as proof of his skill, announced today that due to a mysterious energy called E-L-E-C-T-R-I-C-T-Y, people who have the condition known as epilepsy do in fact have seizures.

Since the release of Professor Botolph Trump's thesis "I Told You So" in 1832, it was originally believed that only anorexics, circus clowns and pandas suffered such episodes, but Dr Bud Light has now refuted these claims with his new discovery.

He is expected to receive a long awaited knighthood from Her Majesty the Queen next year for his contributions to the medical community, which include the discovery of the 17 uses of a dead diabetic, and his amazing 14 simultaneous brain transplants (a 1998 world record).

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
