Constant University Press - Scientists at Imperial University, Texas have unveiled a device that can deduce whether a glass is indeed "half full" or "half empty". It consists of a level plate (on which the glass is placed) and a red sign that signifies "1/2 Full" or "1/2 Empty".

An early demonstration was available to the press - in fact your humble reporter was able to "have a go" myself. I duly filled a glass (without of course telling the scientists whether it was half full or half empty). I placed it on the plate and within literally minutes the machine had correctly identified it as being "1/2 Full".

I asked the scientists how the machine works. "It determines if the glass is in half full" claimed Dr. Rosen. "But how do we know if it is correct ?" I asked (trying not to sound uneducated). "We are currently developing a second machine that will determine if this machine's accuracy is scientifically valid" replied Dr. Rosen.

So there you go - perhaps soon the machine will be in stored available for a normal housewife !

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
