NASA has announced that food celeb and talk show host Rachael Ray has done some catering for the next trip into space.
Thai chicken and other delicacies will be on the menu. Although some of the astronauts were pleased at the thought of the Rachael Ray cuisine, the announcement was not met with universal delight. One astronaut was plainly disgusted. "Why do you think I'm going up there?" he asked. "It's to get away from all these celebs for a while. Rachael, Oprah, Dr. Phil -- Give me a break! They're in your face all the time. Now we can't even take off for outer space without hearing about one of those pests. It's an outrage."
One of his astronaut colleagues seemed equally unimpressed by the promise of the fancy eats, though she said she'd rather eat Rachael Ray's food than listen to her yakking. The astronaut told a Spoof reporter, "Really, for space travel, I'd prefer takeout, or takeup, whatever you want to call it, from McDonalds or KFC. Maybe even Burger King. Then at least I could have it MY way."
Meanwhile, Martha Stewart, furious that SHE wasn't chosen for this project, sniffed, "I may be an ex-con, but I still know how to cook." The domestic diva criticized the choice of Thai chicken, saying that it was much too spicy a dish for travelers. Martha commented, "Oh well, maybe it'll turn out to be a smooth ride." Smiling, she added, "And if not, let's hope they bring along a lot of barf bags and plenty of Tide."
