Chip supper - bad for your wallet?

A man from Padstow in Cornwall was last night counting the cost of afternoon binge that's left him counting the cost.

Eric Stamper started the day fairly normally and went to work. Once there he decided to have a half-day off and booked the 'holiday' with his boss.

He then texted his pal Sam 'Sponger' Rees and they met in the Admiral Nelson Pub at one pm.

'That's when the trouble started', said a shame-faced Eric 'Cos next thing I know we're in Rick Stein's place and it's all kicking off big style!'

The Celebrity TV Chef now takes over the story:

"Well it was about 6:30 and service was just starting when these two blokes came in the worse for drink. They ordered Turbot and chips and two bottles of our most expensive champagne at £340 a bottle each.

"They scoffed the grub necked the shampoo and paid up without so much as a murmur', laughed the affable fish fryer.

"Mr Stamper has worked out that his afternoon of fun cost him £402.24 pence exactly and has told us that he is "proper well miffed"

"I won't be taking any more impromptu half-days" he remarked.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
