The 21st annual Ugly Dog Show that took place last week and has grown increasingly more popular every year, has attracted a unique and prestigious following lately.
A group of scholars and scientists who have been "on the lookout" for a missing hairdo link that led the 1980's hairstyle evolution from the coarse hair styles of early 80's punk rock to the formidable jacked up hairdos of the late 80's glamour bands.
The group believes they have found the missing link hiding in plain sight at the Ugly Dog Show.
The key genetic piece was found in the undisputed winning breed and yearly favorite the Chinese Crested.
Yari Liptaz of the privately funded group said, "I knew we were onto something when I spied with my peripheral vision what appeared to be a group of mini Billy Idols tethered by rubber cat leashes, I knew then we had uncovered something unexplainable. The Chinese Crested is more than a canine, it's a suspicious link."
