Melon Niaromanski ducked under the tables soon as the shooting started. She immediatly starte crawling towards the "Wouldn't" door, but she ran into Treetrunk halfway.
"They've got the street blocked out front, its no good that way slim," said Treetrunk.
"Well its not any good where I came from and stop calling me slim, the name is Melon."
"Sorry Slim, its hard to get me off a nickname once I start, but I'll try Melons," he said with a grin.
"Please come out from under the tables," said a large overweight woman with a mustache and thick German accent. Everyone in the bar slowly complies with the demand considering there are several guns on them.
"My name is D'Angela Merklehofer, I would like to talk with you Mr Treetrunk. You have a boat and wouldn't want to lose it I take."
"Well how exactly WOULD I lose my boat, I wouldn't likely let anyone else touch it," said Treetrunk.
"Exacattly," said Merklehofer, "Nore would you, you wouldn't want to have something bad to happen. Nor WOULD you want to help any of the wrong people."
"Well umm look chief who I WOULD help is up to me, but er thanks fer the warnin, I wouldn't want to disappoint Vichy, unless of course it was on purpose," said Treetrunk.
"Don't be too careful, I would hate for something bad if it wouldn't happen to you," said Merklehofer, "have a nice evening."
"I would but I've already seen you," said Treetrunk.
Treetrunk turned to where Melon, but she had gone. A Frenchman approached Treetrunk, "Mr Treetrunk I would like to speak to you privately I have a business proposition for you."
"My boat isn't for hire," said Treetrunk.
"Wouldn't you like to hear what I have to say first?" asked the man.
"I would, but you wouldn't like my answer," said Treetrunk, "Its the same answer as before."
"But you would not hear what I need yet Mr Rick," said the man
"No I wouldn't," said Treetrunk, "But is suppose you would tell me anyway."
"We need you to bring a French underground hero here, just like you wouldn't do in Casablanka."
"Now look you my name wouldn't be Rick and I would never be in Casablanca," said Treetrunk.
