World famous director Steven Spielberg and Universal Studios have been served with a multi million dollar lawsuit by an unemployed Los Angeles labourer.

The 50 page suit, filed today in Los Angeles County Court, claims that Speilberg breached the copyright of Angelino Manassa following a car crash in Los Angeles in 1981.

The papers, lodged by lawyer Barnabus E. Wilstein, continue :

"On May 3rd, 1982 at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Vine Street at approximately 13.10 hours, the 1977 Impala Caprice driven by my client collided with a black sedan, the driver of which was one Steven Allan Spielberg.

A healthy exchange of words ensued and the debate was subsequently terminated by my client negotiating his damaged vehicle away from the scene and 'flipping Mr Spielberg off' in the process.

My client understands that, following the unfortunate incident, Mr Spielberg made his way directly to Universal Studios to attend the final pre production planning meeting for the project 'E.T : The Extra Terrestrial'.

Mr Manassa contends that Mr Spielberg did willfully and deliberately incorporate my client's middle finger gesture into the poster that subsequently adorned advertising hoardings, newspapers and magazines all over the globe in the months leading to the release of the money spinning movie .

My client further contends that as plagiarism poses the greatest threat to artistic and creative integrity in the 21st Century, when detected it should incur an appropriately high level of recompense.

Accordingly, my client would request that he receive compensation in the amount of $50 million.

My client awaits the Court's decision with interest and anticipation".
