Eighteen years in the Senate taught me, Russ Feingold, that being bitter about losing my job to Ron Johnson. A man that campaigned with the promise that he was going to create jobs, well, my job is gone.
I can't wait to see what Mr. Johnson does for this unemployed Senator.
I worked hard for the people of Wisconsin and this is the thanks they give me. They give me the boot. I promised to continue to be a Maverick, even if my past record proves I vote more along the party lines, but, hey, I am not bitter.
Mr. Johnson ran a dirty campaign. I only wish I used my maverick image to act him like he attacked me.
My favorite commercial was the one that Mr. Johnson said that I was just slinging mud. He sure did his best impersonation on of Caesar on that one, because he had his rich henchmen run adds that attacked me.
I plan on being bitter about all his negative ads for a longtime, or until I finish writing my memoirs.
The plan is to write about how evil corporations drive a good and honest people like me out of Washington.
I will say that I will miss driving around Wisconsin on the taxpayers' dime, but we will see what happens in the next couple years.
I just want to thank all the people that voted for me. I only wish you could of convinced your friends and family to vote for me, too.
