SWEET LIPS, Tennessee - Senator John McCain told one of his closet advisers, Cody that he realizes that he messed up royally when he picked Sarah Palin to be his running mate.
"Cory," he said, "I messed up royally when I picked Sarah Palmer to be my running mate."
Cody corrected him, "Ah sir, my name's Cody and her name's Palin."
And McCain asked, "Palin?...Palin Palmer? Hell I've been calling her Sarah Palin all this time."
"Ah, Mr. McCain sir" Cody responded, "Her given name is Sarah Louise Palin but for campaigning purposes she goes by Sarah Palin."
McCain smiled and said, 'Well Coby that certainly makes sense, I was getting ready to call up the poster people and send back all those misprinted McCain-Palin campaign posters."
"Well there's no need for us to do that sir."
"Nope, there sure isn't," McCain said adding, "You know Colby I'm feeling a little tired...I'm just gonna get on my bus and take a little nap."
"That'll be fine sir."
"Okay" McCain replied, "But Corby you be sure and wake me up if Sarah Palmer calls."
"Yes sir...I sure will. And sir have a nice nap."
